I hold an FCC license for 3.65Ghz. This is the part of the spectrum where WiMAX lives. One popular application of 3.65 GHz is rural internet access.
As of April 2015, the FCC is no longer issuing these licenses. I’ve been contacted by a company that is looking to acquire a license.
I’d be open to selling my license, but I have no idea how to determine what a reasonable price is.Anyone ever done something like this?

If you live in a rural area, at least enough to buy one of these.
To be perfectly honest, I haven’t the slightest idea how much these go for, but if there is a company that wants it, playing tough to get will only get you more money for it.

Ask them to make an offer, then add two zeros to the end of that.

did they make any sort of offer? I’m guessing several thousands to tens of thousands..

Try to buy it yourself. Shop around and see if there’s someone seling. Ask for that price + 10% (seller’s market from the sounds of things)

Eleventy gazillion dollars.*
*If you could negotiate a cut of future revenue, that could provide funds for go fast parts in the future. Leasing the license to them could be smart as well.

Find out how big the company is first. Then price accordingly.

First I’d make sure you legally can sell your type of license to a business, because these licenses are usually use specific. And because it’s the government, you would be held liable too, if it’s not legal for them to use the license. Also, because the FCC has changed their ruling in the ~3.5ghz spectrum in May, there may be new legislation behind the use of the frequency.
Second, for the price, I’d think it all depends on the size of the company. I really have no idea, but i’d think a couple thousand at least.
Also you’ll need FCC Form 314, I think (from a quick Google search), and the sale gets put up for petition for 30 days.
